New Splatoon Amiibo Dioramas Announced

Splatoon Squid Sisters Callie and Marie have already been confirmed to be joining the Amiibo collection this summer, but according to the Japanese Nintendo website, Nintendo plan to bring a little more alongside the upcoming Splatoon figures, with two new Amiibo diorama kits.

Two Amiibo dioramas have been announced (via. NeoGAF), with the first inspired by Splatoon’s Kelp Dome. The second, meanwhile, resembles a stage for the game’s Squid Sisters, and comes with a slot so players can fit their 3DS (or smartphone) snugly inside to act as a screen.

Both dioramas will launch on July 7, the day before the new Splatoon Amiibo figures are scheduled to release, and will be priced at 1080 yen. That’s around £6.72, or $9.82. Whilst the dioramas only appear to be coming to Japan, imports appeared for Nintendo’s previous dioramas, so perhaps we can expect something similar for Kelp Dome and Squid Stage.

These nifty dioramas aren’t the first Nintendo have made. The first to be made was inspired by Super Smash Bros., whilst the second resembled the Kirby series.

The upcoming Amiibos for Squid Sisters Callie and Marie will be available as a bundle for $25 or for $13 each. Also reported to be coming next month are new colour types for Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy and Inkling Squid. The new colour types, however, will be of ‘limited quantities’, according to Nintendo Life.
