Witcher 3’s Blood and Wine Reportedly Has “Over 90 New Quests”

Ready your silver blades.

According to a user on NeoGAF, the upcoming Witcher 3 expansion Blood and Wine includes over 90 new quests and over 40 locations in an adventure that is reported to last at least 30 hours – all set to “over 2 hours of musical content”.

The Witcher’s dialogue exchanges have always been a large part of the series, and as such the expansion is reportedly has over 14000 lines of dialogue. Monster hunters may delight in hearing that the game’s already voluminous bestiary will be enlarged, with the expansion including “more than 20 new monsters.”

In terms of armour, the Blood and Wine add-on will see the introduction of ‘Grandmaster’, a new Witcher armour class, as well as a new merchant who crafts this level of gear exclusively. If you’re looking to add a little extra vibrance to Geralt’s skirmishes amongst monsters and men, you’ll also be able to dye your armour. The post claims that dyes can be either brought, crafted or looted, and will only be available in Toussaint, one of the explorable areas in Blood and Wine.

Other additions reportedly include an updated user interface. Books will now be available in the Glossary, and Geralt will be rotatable in the stats menu. Players will also be able to remove the “fish-eye” effect when using your Witcher senses.

Oh, and your home-base? It’s called Corvo Bianco. And you get your very own vineyard.

The information was drawn from recent previews of Blood and Wine. You can read the full notes on NeoGAF here.

A separate interview with Eurogamer also revealed that developer CD Projekt RED will be using a lot of new assets in Blood and Wine, with artist Len de Gracia “80, 85, probably even 90 per cent of the assets – in terms of environment that you find in this game – are brand new.” Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz has also stated that the add-on is likely to run at 30fps on consoles.

As reported through the game’s official Twitter page, Blood and Wine is scheduled for launch on May 31 2016 for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. A trailer was recently shared, giving players a look at Toussaint, one of the new regions the expansion has to offer. You can watch the trailer below.
