It looks as if Volition – the developer behind Red Faction and the unabashedly wacky Saints Row series – is working on its next game, as some documents have been spotted online by Nerd Leaks pointing to a new project (via. GameSpot).
Volition is going to announce Agents of Mayhem.

The first document is an “Agents of Mayhem” trademark, which was filed by Koch Media (Volition’s parent company). The trademark was filed on May 3 with the European Intellectual Property Office, under video game software, cultural activities and entertainment, and computer game instructions. You can see the trademark here.
The newly trademarked Agents of Mayhem has also shown up on the resume of stunt actor Brandon Molale, who has performed stunts for TV shows such as American Horror Story and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Molale has also done motion capture work for games like L.A Noire and God of War, and listed Agents of Mayhem amongst them, citing Volition, Frame Machine and a Zach Lowery as references. Whilst a Zach Lowery was known as a lead animator at Volition on Saints Row: The Third and IV, he now works as a senior animator with Boss Key Productions. All traces of Agents of Mayhem have since been removed, however. You can check out Molale’s resume here.
The third piece of evidence implying Volition’s new title can be seen on animator John Velazquez’s resume, which references his work at design, VFX and animation company Frame Machine on an ‘Agents of Mayhem’. This resume can be found here.
Volition’s last official game release was 2015’s Saints Row V: Gat out of Hell. In February, the developer also released an ISO file of Saints Row Undercover – the cancelled PSP game. With regard to Agents of Mayhem, Polygon published an interesting article in 2013 in which Saints Row IV design director Scott Phillips called the player “an agent of mayhem.” Whether this new trademarked game will be in any way connected to the Saints Row series remains to be seen, and given that E3 is just around the corner, further information might still be to come.
