Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End isn’t due for official release till May 10, but according to numerous online customers, the game’s street date has been broken in the UK.
Video Gamer reports that customers claimed to have received dispatch emails from Amazon two weeks early, presumably after pre-ordering the game. Separate reports from PC Games and This Gen Gaming suggest that copies might already be winging their way to some customers, from Amazon Germany and Amazon US, with in-hand copies are also appearing on eBay.
The game has even appeared in some retailers, with an individual named Shabz allegedly having purchased Uncharted 4 in a CEX store in the UK. An image of the receipt can be seen below.
“I went in to CEX… to actually buy myself a camera lens,” Shabz told Video Gamer, “and when I went to the counter to purchase the lens I saw behind the shop assistant that there was Uncharted 4 so as a try I said can I also get a copy of Uncharted 4, he just picked it up and rang it through the till. The game cost £55.”
The early buyer is already two chapters into the game, and describes its single-player campaign as “so far running fine”, although it “may have a few frame rate drops but not so noticeable.” He also commented that “at heavy fireweight it wasn’t too bad with frame rates.”
Multiplayer is not yet playable, though, with Shabz stating that the option is currently “greyed out” on the game’s main menu. Other problems, such as trophies not synching to Sony’s servers and trophy lists not appearing in the trophy menu were also mentioned. Shabz added that the DLC code included with Uncharted 4’s Day One Edition – which includes bonus multiplayer add-ons – does not work for now either.
