Stephen King’s ‘IT’ Release Date Announced

Warner Bros. has announced the release date for the remake of the Stephen King adaptation It.

The big-screen version is set to release on September 8, 2017 and will see The Revenant’s Will Poulter play Pennywise the clown.

The original adaptation was made for the small screen in the form of a two-part miniseries which saw acting legend Tim Curry make an entire generation scared of clowns. That version also starred Richard Thomas (The Waltons), Seth Green (Buffy The Vampire Slayer) and Annette O’Toole (Smallville).

Based on the book by horror genius, Stephen King, It tells the story of seven children who are terrorized by a demon who exploits the fears and phobias of its victims. Appearing in a number of different forms, most notably as a clown, It returns when the friends return to their home town 30 years on.
