Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Anime Out Now on Crunchyroll

The anime adaptation of the Ace Attorney series debuted this weekend at 4AM PST (12PM GMT) yesterday on anime streaming service, Crunchyroll. The first episode was announced by the service on its forums, and is available to watch now to all Crunchyroll members outside of Asia.

According to Capcom Unity, all Ace Attorney episodes will be in Japanese, featuring English subtitles. The story will draw on the origins of the series’ integral characters, such as Pheonix Wright, Maya Fey and the collared prosecutor, Miles Edgeworth.

Here’s Crunchyroll’s description of the anime:

“Adapted from the popular video game franchise, Ace Attorney follows rookie lawyer Naruhodo Ryuuichi (Phoenix Wright) and his assistant Mayoi (Maya) as he defends his clients in a court of law. With limited evidence and logic as his only weapon, can Naruhodo turn the case around when all the odds are stacked against him?”

The episodes will also be using Japanese names, so Capcom Unity have also comprised a list detailing who’s who for users of the Western names (via. GameSpot):

  • Naruhodo Ryuichi (Phoenix Wright)
  • Mitsurugi Reiji (Miles Edgeworth)
  • Ayasato Mayoi (Maya Fey)
  • Ayasato Chihiro (Mia Fey)
  • Yahari Masashi (Larry Butz)
