Robert Downey Jr. has agreed to appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
The Hollywood Reporter is claiming that sources say the Iron Man actor has closed the deal to feature. Tom Holland will star as Peter Parker and his costumed alter-ego, after making his MCU debut in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. That film will spend time introducing the relationship between Parker and Tony Stark, with Homecoming building further on that thread.
The inclusion of Iron Man has been speculated for some time, so many will not be surprised at this news.
Downey Jr.’s appearance will be his eighth Marvel movie. He has also previously signed a deal to appear in Infinity War: Part One and Part Two.
