Ahead of its release in just over a month’s time, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was reported by developer Naughty Dog to have ‘gone gold’. As such, development on the base game has concluded, and discs are winging their way to manufacturers for mass production. The company reported the good news on Twitter earlier today.

After originally being scheduled for release in 2015, the game experienced multiple set-backs. First, the game was delayed until March 2016, before being moved forward to April, and then was finally rescheduled for launch on May 10. Now that development of the main game has ceased, fans can afford to relax, as further delays are now highly unlikely. Director Neil Druckmann also shared an image of what appears to be one of the first discs to house the full game.
Uncharted 4 will mark the last in the Uncharted series Naughty Dog plan to develop, also featuring the intrepid adventurer Nathan Drake in one final voyage. Another director on the project, Bruce Straley has given his opinion of Drake’s final conquest as the “most visually stunning game ever created”.
