1980s Ninja Turtles To Cameo In Modern Day ‘TMNT’

The classic 1980s animated Teenage Mutant Ninja (Hero in the UK) Turtles are returning to our TV screens for a one-off cameo in Nickelodeon’s current CGI-animated seires.

In an episode set to air latest this month, titled Trans-Dimensional Turtles, the green quartet are thrown into an alternate dimension which just happens to be the hand-drawn world of the 1980s animated show.

Along with the turtles of that world, Leonardo, Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael will work to defeat the Krang of that universe before returning to their own dimension with their doppelgangers to take down the modern incarnation of the disembodied brain.

The original 1988 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles voice cast will be back to play their formally two-dimensional selves. Townsend Coleman, Cam Clarke and Barry Gordon will all be heard alongside their contemporary counterparts Sean Astin, Greg Cipes and Seth Green. Rob Paulsen will be pulling double-duty, as he played Raphael in the 80s, and now plays Donatello three decades later.

The episode to due to air on Nickelodeon on March 27th, check out the video above for a taste of what to expect.
