The Magic Circle: Gold Edition Coming to PlayStation 4

The Magic Circle: Gold Edition is coming to PlayStation 4 on May 10th, this game is a puzzler which has been recently nominated by the IGF for Excellence in Narrative. In this title we follow the story of a legendary game that has been stuck in the development process for over 20 years.

This game shows, in a dark comedic way, the many ways a game can go wrong during its development process. We take the role of a game creator who is sick of not finishing his masterpiece because of a creative deadlock caused by the development team he’s working with, so he decides to release the game from inside and finish it, whether they like it or not.

On this adventure, your creators – voiced by Ashly Burch (Borderlands 2), James Urbaniak (The Venture Brothers), Stephen Russell (Fallout 4), and Karen Dyer (Resident Evil 5) – have failed you: they are all too human, they spend so much time bickering that you have no weapons at all, you have to steal the creation powers from them in order to accomplish your mission, one of those powers is called The Circle: a tool which lets you trap objects and creatures in order to use them at your advantage, it’s up to you to decide which creatures shall join your army!

The puzzles on this game have a creative formula: there is not only a correct solution for each of them, this game persuades the player to design its own solution for each puzzle presented to him. Maybe as a kid you played your favorite game and you watched the game’s glitches and thought “How could they let this error slip into the game? I could’ve done better than them!” Well now’s your chance to do it right on May 10th.
