Serafinowicz Cast in The Tick Reboot

Peter Serafinowicz has been cast in the lead role in the Amazon Prime reboot of The Tick.

It was previously announced that the cult comedy would be returning on the streaming service, though original star Patrick Warburton would not be returning. And now, as first reported by Deadline, Guardians of the Galaxy actor Serafinowicz has signed on to replace.

Ben Edlund, who created the character as well as the 1994 animated series and the original live-action version, is back on board as writer and executive producer. Warburton is also expected to act as executive producer. Wally Pfister is directing the pilot.

In the reboot, The Tick is recovering from memory less and ends up reuniting with his sidekick Arthur. The original series only ran for nine episodes, however it was well-received by critics and quickly attained cult status.
