New Collaboration Between Castlevania Producer & Lords of Shadow Dev Announced

Castlevania producer Dave Cox has confirmed his departure from UK mobile studio Fish in a Bottle  to work with Lords of Shadow developer Mercury Steam on a new game that has yet to be announced. A reveal of the project is set to arrive next month, and hints are already being dropped surrounding the developer’s “most ambitious undertaking as an independent studio.”

“I’m extremely excited about this very ambitious work they’re undertaking. Mercury Steam continue to push boundaries and their sheer creative spirit always astounds me,” Cox added in a statement (via. GameSpot).

Mercury Steam’s website has also undergone an update, and now features a cigar-smoking man in a cockpit, along with a countdown timer to the game’s announcement. Accompanying the timer is a message reading “Mother will update when close to destination”, implying that there are more hints and teases to come prior to the game’s reveal.

A recent tweet from the developer asked fans what kind of game their shared image might be from, in addition to their previous teasers claiming, “a new future begins to dawn.” The newly teased image can be seen below.

Dave Cox has stated Mercury Steam’s new game won’t be related to Castlevania and is planned to release for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
