Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill are to reprise their famous voice roles as Batman and The Joker for the film adaptation of The Killing Joke.
Comic Book Resources are reporting that deals have been agreed with the two, who first teamed together in Batman: The Animated Series. In addition, Tara Strong will voice Barbara Gordon/Batgirl and Ray Wise will voice Commissioner Gordon.
In a statement to the website, Hamill said;
“The chance to work once again with Kevin Conroy, my favorite Batman, in what some consider the definitive origin of this iconic villain is a dream come true for me. I am beyond thrilled to return as The Joker in The Killing Joke!”
“I’ve had the great privilege of voicing Batman for more than two decades, and some of my favorite moments in the recording booth have been alongside Mark Hamill. Mark always enables me to be a better actor. I’m thrilled that we’re both back to bring these characters to life in one of the most heralded Batman/Joker stories of all time.”
As well as The Animated Series, Conroy has voiced The Dark Knight in the trilogy of Batman: Arkham video games, Justice League: Doom and Superman/Batman: Public Enemies, as well as Superman, Justice League and Batman Beyond series.
Hamill has voiced the classic villain in the trilogy of Batman: Arkham games, as well as Justice League and Superman animated series.
No release date has yet been announced for the movie, though it it set to be debuted at San Diego Comic-Con later this year.
