Hogan Awarded $115 Million in Damages in Gawker Case

Hulk Hogan has Hulked up, hit the big boot and legdrop in his battle with Gawker – with a jury awarding him $115 MILLION in damages.

Hogan – who actually only asked for $100 million in the civil lawsuit – sued Gawker after they published 1 minute and 50 seconds of a sex tape of Hogan and the wife of his friend Bubba the Love Sponge, something Hulk claimed was the ultimate invasion of his privacy. After listening to some, shall we say, interesting testimony from Hogan, the jury have awarded in the former WWE champion’s favour, with the breakdown of the monetary award being $55 million for economic injuries and $60 million for emotional distress.

He could get even more with the jury believed to want to award punitive damages also.

Even before the verdict was out, Gawker were claiming that they were ready to appeal, stating that evidence related to statements from Bubba and his wife regarding the situation and Hogan’s knowledge that he was being filmed were kept from being heard by the jury.
