Club Nintendo Replacement Launches in Japan

After the full discontinuation of Club Nintendo in September 2015, the programme’s replacement has just launched in Japan, showing the first rewards to be granted through My Nintendo. My Nintendo members can receive rewards by spending Gold and Platinum points.

Gold points are obtained when a digital version of a game is purchased, whilst Platinum points can be collected by interacting with Nintendo apps, such as signing into the Miiverse and eShop each week and linking Nintendo’s new mobile game Miitomo with your Facebook account. Eurogamer has given further information on how to nab these points.

The first rewards to utilise these points come in the form of free games, available for the Wii U or 3DS, as well as game discounts, selected themes and Miitomo items. Whilst Platinum Points can be spent on the new Twilight Princess-themed Nintendo Picross, Gold Points can be used to buy a variety of titles such as Super Mario 64, New Super Luigi U and Pikmin 3’s DLC pack. A full list of the first games, themes and items to become compatible with the My Nintendo Points can be found below (source: Eurogamer).

Charlie is a platforming romantic from England, that still speaks in a fashion that died with the Elizabethan era. Having been gaming since the days of Crash Bandicoot, he champions the Playstation, and is only a little bit embarassed that Super Mario Land keeps spelling his defeat.
