Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Developer Teases New Game Reveal

Spanish developer Mercury Steam has begun to hint that a reveal for their new project – currently in the works – will be coming soon. After the company began looking back on its previous creations, Jericho and Severance: Blade of Darkness on Twitter yesterday, an update was posted soon after, alluding to an announcement concerning a new game, allegedly coming today.

The developer is also well known for its work on both Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and it’s sequel, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2.

In 2014, Konami producer Dave Cox claimed that Mercury Steam’s new game would be “completely different” to Castlevania (via. GameSpot). The supposed up and coming title would also release for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC, but not for Wii U. Two years earlier, Cox mentioned the company had “really cool ideas”, and it could be possible that the Contra series might be involved.

Whether or not this game will appear in today’s announcement is still currently unknown, but given that the announcement was reported to be coming today, it should be only a matter of time before more information arises.

The image below was shared by Mercury Steam last week, showing some concept art that might be from this mysterious title.
