Batman v Superman Has Record-Breaking Opening Weekend

Who said a bad review is a death knell for a movie?

Despite less-than-positive reviews from the world over – including right here on this very website – Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has taken an estimated $170.1 million in its opening weekend to become the biggest March opening of all-time, the largest Easter opening, and Warner Bros.’ biggest domestic release ever. It is also the sixth biggest domestic opening of all-time.

Worldwide, its total is already at $424.1 million, making it the fourth-biggest global opening ever.

Final totals will be released on Monday.
