Big Boss Man Going into the Hall of Fame

WWE have announced that Big Boss Man will be inducted into the 2016 Hall of Fame.

Boss Man, real name Ray Traylor, competed in WWF/WWE on several different occasions between 1998 and 2003.

Introduced as a corrections officer-turned-wrestler from Cobb County, Georgia in the late 80’s, Boss Man impressed many early on with his incredible agility, even more astounding given his 300lb frame.

Following a titanic tag-team with Akeem in the Twin Towers, Boss Man turned babyface and found a solid upper midcard spot in the WWF, notably having a memorable Jailhouse Match with The Mountie at SummerSlam 1991, and a Nightstick match with the infamous Nailz at Survivor Series 1992.

Leaving the WWF some time after, Traylor wrestled around the world, including a stint in World Championship Wrestling, before returning to the WWF in 1998. Now dressed in black riot gear, Boss Man was now a heel as Mr McMahon’s security in The Corporation. This association saw him compete regularly with top-line stars such as ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, The Undertaker and Mick Foley.

Away from the Corporation, there were also a rivalry with Big Show – culminating in the infamous segment where he interrupted the ‘funeral’ for Show’s father – and a Kennel from Hell match with Al Snow at Unforgiven 1999.

Traylor passed away in 2004.
