HTC Vive price is $799 and Will Release in April

The price for the HTC Vive has been revealed to be $799, making the headset $200 more expensive than the Oculus Rift. Pricing includes the headset, two wireless controllers, two base stations to track movement, a link box to connect the headset to a PC and a pair of Vive earbuds.

HTC and Valve have justified the high price by calling the Vive a “complete system”. In comparison to the Oculus Rift, the HTC Vive includes controllers to work with the system, while the Oculus Rift only includes a Xbox One controller and will sell the Rift’s Touch controller at a later date.

Pre-orders for the HTC Vive will start on February 29th at 7 AM PST and will be released in April. The headset will include two free games; Job Simulator and Fantastic Contraption.

So are you looking forward to the HTC Vive and what do you think about the price for the VR headset? Let us know in the comments below.
