Help Leo Bag That Oscar in Red Carpet Rampage

With the Oscars taking off in just over a week, well-received picture The Revenant could well be in with a chance of nabbing an award. But with anticipatory predictions for Best Actor rising, British developer The Line’s Red Carpet Rampage has players guiding a retro-style Leonardo DiCaprio across the Oscars’ glitzy realms, trailing a shiny gold statue that manages to stay just beyond the hopeful actor’s grasp (via. Polygon).

The plucky browser title is laden with references to the actor’s voluminous filmography and Academy Awards experiences. You’ll engage in red carpet races with Bryan Cranston and Michael Fassbender and write acceptance speeches against the clock- there’s even a minigame named ‘Find the Black Nominee’, commenting on the ongoing cultural controversy surrounding the Oscars ceremony.

The Academy Awards will air on February 28, with Best Actor nominees including Bryan Cranston, Matt Damon, Michael Fassbender, Eddie Redmayne and the Red Carpet Rampager himself. DiCaprio advocates will have to tune in to see the result, but until then, fans can enjoy pummeling their keyboard in vehement pursuit of the prestigious statuette.

Charlie is a platforming romantic from England, that still speaks in a fashion that died with the Elizabethan era. Having been gaming since the days of Crash Bandicoot, he champions the Playstation, and is only a little bit embarassed that Super Mario Land keeps spelling his defeat.
