Punisher Series in Development at Netflix

Netflix are reportedly close to ordered a full series of The Punisher.

Ahead of the second season of Daredevil, in which Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle is set to feature, a new report claims that the character is set to get it’s own spinoff series.¬†Along with Daredevil, Netflix also has Jessica Jones and the upcoming Luke Cage, Iron Fist and The Defenders in it’s Marvel TV portfolio.

Promotional material for the second series of Daredevil is focusing on Punisher, so a series of his own seems like the next natural step.

Fans have been petitioning for years for Marvel to bring the character back to screens, following movie outings starring Dolph Lungren, Thomas Jane and Ray Stevenson. Marvel regained the rights to the character four years ago, paving the way for the appearance in Daredevil.

Daredevil season 2 premieres on Netflix on March 18.
