GameStop Publishing Insomniac’s New Game

Insomniac’s newest game, Song of the Deep, is going to be published by the retailer GameStop.

The founder of Insomniac Games Ted Price is calling this a “non-traditional developer-publisher relationship” Insomniac will have complete creative control of the game and own the IP while GameStop will be handling Song of the Deep’s promotion and marketing. The game will be available to buy digitally on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, but obviously, a physical copy of the game will be available exclusively at GameStop stores.

Song of the Deep is a 2D side-scroller set in Ireland. You follow Merryn, a 12-year-old girl who lives with her father until one day he goes missing when he went out fishing. Merryn decides to build herself a submarine, the S.S. Eirnin, and search the depths of the ocean for her lost father.

Song of the Deep will be released this summer for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Aspiring writer, that is trying to get into video game journalism. Very enthusiastic about gaming and fond of anything that is nerdy.
