Fox have announced 24: Legacy.
The 24 spinoff will retain the parent show’s real-time format, however will feature an all-new cast, meaning Jack Bauer himself, Keifer Sutherland, will not be involved.
Dana Walden, Fox co-chairman and CEO, spoke about the new series at the Television Critics Association winter press tour;
“There’s a time jump, a new organization, a completely different story. It’s a contemporary story about the potential to activate sleeper cells in the United States. There are nods in the pilot to prior CTU agents, but no ongoing characters.”
According to Fox, the show will focus on a military hero who encounters a troubled return to America, leading him to ask CTU for help and to stop what could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil. It is understand that the lead character will be African-American, though casting has not yet been announced.
The series will have 12 episodes.
