20th Century Fox has released the first trailer for upcoming mutant-fest X-Men: Apocalypse.
Trailers for movies filled to the brim with superheroes are quite prominent at the moment, with Marvel Studios and Warner Bros going all out over the last couple of weeks, but let’s remember which franchise actually proved that multi-hero movies could work well, X-Men.
The trailer gives us a good look at the new bad guy, the titular Apocalypse, as well as a brief glimpse at fan-favourite Angel. The best reveal, though, comes right at the end with a bald James McAvoy in full Xavier costume.
X-Men: Apocalypse follows Charles Xavier as he unites a youthful group of mutants with extraordinary abilities to fend off an ancient evil threat that is viewed as a mutant god.
James McAvoy stars, alongside Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Olivia Munn, Rose Byrne, Oscar Isaac, Nicholas Hoult, Evan Peters, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Ben Hardy, Kodi Smit-McPhee and Lucas Till.
It will be released on May 27th, 2016.
