PS4 Remote Play Is Coming To PC And Mac

The President of Sony Computer Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios,  Shuhei Yoshida, has confirmed that work on an “official application” for Remote Play support on PC and Mac is in progress, taking to Twitter to make the announcement.

With Windows 10 now allowing Xbox One owners to stream games seamlessly to any device running the Microsoft operating system, it was only a matter of time before PlayStation began working on similar support. Remote Play is currently supported via the PlayStation Vita handheld and PlayStation TV micro-console, so the addition of both PC and Mac OS support would greatly extend the feature.

Exactly when the feature will roll out is unclear, but more information will likely be announced very soon. For those that can’t wait, there is an unofficial application already out there, called Remote Play PC. The application is currently still in development and available as an alpha release now for £6.50. The video below shows that the software works, though, given the alpha status, it is likely still full of bugs and likely to crash.
