Billy Gunn Fired By WWE

Billy Gunn has been released by WWE.

The Wrestling Observer website originally broke the news, reporting that Gunn – real name Monty Sopp – was fired after testing positive for elevated levels of testosterone during a powerlifting event back in July.

The test results reportedy showed Gunn’s testosterone/epitestosterone ratio at 37-1, well over the 4-1 limit. It is believed that WWE were not even aware that Sopp was taking part in powerlifting competitions, which he has now been prohibited from competing in for four years following the failure.

Gunn had been working in NXT as a trainer, as well as a coach on the latest series of Tough Enough.
