New Trailer for The Flash Season 2 Released

I cannot continue without firstly stating the epic awesomeness that is…..the Flash Light!

Like the iconic Batman symbol we are more than familiar with lighting up the night sky, DC and The CW treats us to the sight of a Flash symbol mounted upon a flood light, we presume as a calling sign for the super speedster. The question is: is it a calling sign for our familiar Barry Allen or is it in fact for Jay Garrick, the original Flash?

Jay makes his impressive appearance, warning the team there are enemies on the loose after Barry caused a singularity which caused a portal to form between worlds at the end of season 1. Cue heroic races across Central City to save the day and that challenge; “If you want me, you’re going to have to catch me”.

Who is he challenging? I guess we will have to watch it to find out.

The Atom Smasher, played by former WWE wrestler Adam ‘Edge’ Copeland, looks a formidable enemy for The Flash and is somewhat Bane-esque in appearance. Joe West can be seen firing a weapon, undoubtedly concocted by Cisco Ramon and Caitlin Snow, at The Atom Smasher, but after a glance and the enemy’s physique, I have a funny feeling it may not have been as effective as they hoped it would be.

Cisco’s revelation that he hoards an impressive Nerf collection is unsurprising as we have seen his handy work with guns in the past. One example is his creation of the Cold Gun, most frequently wielded by the nemesis Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold (played by Wentworth Miller). In the trailer we see a new gun designed to aid in Barry Allen’s war on crime.

Season 2 begins on 7 October.
