Those pesky kids are set to return to the big screen, with Warner Bros. announcing that a new Scooby-Doo movie is in the works.
For anyone that wasn’t a fan of the Freddie Prinze, Jr. led movies, great news because the studio will be staying strictly animated this time around.
Slated for a 2018 release, Emmy-winning animator Tony Cervone will be taking the helm on the new movie, already having Scooby on his CV will direct-to-dvd Scooby-Doo! A script has apparently already been produced, although no plot details have been revealed as of yet.
The studio’s plan is to use the new movie to kick-start a brand new take on the franchise, with potential sequels already planned should this new outing prove successful at the box-office.
Scooby and the gang have never dropped in popularity though their recent release into LEGO form has definitely given the aged franchise a recent boost. If you’re interested in the new bricked form of the franchise then check out our review on one of the sets available.
