WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Ant-Man
Evangeline Lilly has recently hinted that she will be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the not too distant future with the announcement that she has already been fitted for a super-suit that would see her transform into her new alter-ego, The Wasp.
Posting on his official Facebook page, the Ant-Man actress writes:
“I was scanned for #TheWasp suit, but then I got pregnant.” “Let’s hope I fit it again! #ineedtime!”
Anyone that has seen Ant-Man will know that the post-credits scene reveals that Hank Pym had been working on a new prototype for his wife, the original Wasp, prior to her disappearance into the quantum realm. Despite spending the entirety of the movie resisting Hope’s insistence to don the Ant-Man suit, he is now ready to hand over this new prototype to her.
Lily has also been discussing how her character, as she appeared in the movie, was very different from Edgar Wright’s original vision.
“She became more relatable and a little less like an original, 1960’s comic book character,” Lily explains. “I LOVED both versions, but the version we settled with fit better in the #marvelverse. I’d still love to do Edgar Wright‘s version, too.”
With Ant-Man unlikely to get a sequel any time soon, is the Marvel machine recruiting Wasp for Avengers: Infinity War? Only time will tell.
