The sixth iteration of Android’s OS will be known as Android Marshmallow.
Previously thought to be titled Android M, the name confirmation came in a blog post by Android project manager Jamal Eason.
“Whether you like them straight out of the bag, roasted to a golden brown exterior with a molten center, or in fluff form, who doesn’t like marshmallows? We definitely like them.”
Being version six, we know that this is going to be a big revision of the operating system. Changes expected includes tweaks to improve battery life, as well as Android Pay and native fingerprint sensor support.
Android Marshmallow is expected to be released this Autumn.
