Fresh Prince Reboot in the Works?

Will Smith is working on a remake of his classic TV series The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

TVLine are reporting that Smith and his production company Overbrook Entertainment are in very early stages of developing a modern-day version of the show. Smith would act as executive producer on the reboot, which “would put a new spin on the fish-out-of-water tale while maintaining the spirit of the original series”. Alongside the actor would be his wife Jada Pinkett-Smith and their Overbrook partners James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett.

A pitch for the show is currently being worked on and will soon be shopped around to prospective networks. The original Fresh Prince ran for six years, ending in 1996.
