Marvel have revealed some new information about Doctor Strange.
Currently only for the eyes of those in attendance, concept art for the movie was displayed which showed Strange’s costumes; in a red cloak and a more traditional outfit with muted colours. Another design showed him wearing what looked like a trench coat.
Art was also shown of Baron Mordo, displayed with trademark grey temples and goatee and wearing grey and black-toned clothes.
Star Benedict Cumberbatch was not in attendance due to theatre commitments in the UK, but did appear via a video message;
“I’m very lucky and excited to be playing Doctor Strange for Marvel. He’s an extraordinary character and brings in whole new multiple dimensions to the Marvel Universe. It will bring a mind-blowing experience.”
Director Scott Derrickson also confirmed that the film’s plot would honour the comic book origin of the character;
Brilliant but arrogant neurosurgeon Stephen Strange suffers an accident that damages his hands, causing him to lose everything and search the world for a cure for his broken, trembling hands. His journey leads him to discover the Ancient One, who teaches him the mystic arts.
Doctor Strange is scheduled for a 4 November 2016 release.
