The final trailer for Fantastic Four has been debuted at Comic-Con.
Unfortunately – for now, at least – the clip was for San Diego attendees only, however it expected to be released online soon. The footage opens with a young Reed Richards telling his teacher that he wants to be the first person to teleport himself, and then creating a tool that causes power boxes explode. The trailer also offers the first shots of the team battling Doctor Doom, played by Toby Kebbell.
Director Josh Trank went on to state that the film could almost be a prequel;
“It’s an origin but it almost works as a prequel of the characters before they become the iconic version of those characters. It’s a group of friends who become a family.”
Jamie Bell, who plays Ben Grimm/The Thing, explained a little more about his character;
“This incarnation of Ben Grimm could be any kid in any town in America. He has one friend – Reed Richards – and he’s a bit directionless when you meet him. He becomes the best version of a hero; one who looks out for his friends. He’s the muscle of the group and I consider him the heart of the group too.”
Fantastic Four stars Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara, Jamie Bell and Toby Kebbell, and is released on 6 August in the UK and 7 August in America.
