A new trailer for Rise of the Tomb Raider, the follow-up to 2013’s franchise reboot Tomb Raider, has hit the internet.
The trailer, titled “Aim Great”, compares the fictional hero of the game, Lara Croft of course, to the likes of Amelia Earhart, Sir Ernest Shackleton and other real-life explorers and pioneers. “Throughout history,” the narrative explains, “the boldest have dared to go further. They risked death, and in doing so, lived on forever.”
The new game sees Croft racing against a mysterious organization called Trinity in an attempt to prove that magic exists by discovering a lost city rumored to contain the secret of immortality.
The story for the game has been written by Rhianna Pratchett, daughter of legendary fantasy author Terry Pratchett.
Rise of the Tomb Raider is being developed by Crystal Dynamics for Microsoft Studios and is due for release later this year on Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
