The following article contains a spoiler for Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Kevin Feige has moved to clarify questions surrounding the mid-credits scene from Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The scene in question show Thanos pull on the Infinity Gauntlet, proclaiming that he will “do it himself”, ‘it’ being claim the Infinity Stones that have been popping up in recent Marvel movies.
And during an interview with Cinema Blend, Feige responded to those who questioned how Thanos came to be in possession of the Gauntlet, last seen – briefly – in Odin’s vault during Thor.
“There are two different gloves. That was not Odin’s vault that you see at the end.”
This would confirm that the glove in Odin’s vault is not the genuine article, and in fact there were a number of gloves in existence in the comics, with the stones themselves giving the power. The third Avengers outings – Infinity War parts 1 and 2 – will focus on the Mad Titan and his quest to collect all six stones and become the supreme ruler of the universe.
Infinity War Part 1 releases on 4 May 2018 with Part 2 coming on 3 May 2019.
