Joss Whedon Reveals Popular Character Cut From Age of Ultron

*Those of you who have not yet seen Avengers: Age of Ultron may want to avoid this article*

 

Joss Whedon has revealed that he was forced to cut a planned cameo from Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The Marvel director told MTV News that a scene featuring Loki – played by Tom Hiddleston – was left on the cutting room floor when it came to the final edit. Idris Elba previously revealed that he had filmed a scene with Hiddleston for the movie.

“Tom is not in the movie. Idris misspoke – twice. We did shoot something, and it didn’t play. The movie has so much, is so filled and we didn’t want to feel overstuffed. I really wanted to have Loki in it, but I understood that it was like, ‘Okay, now there are too many voices in the chorus’.

“At some point, the embarrassment of riches is actually embarrassing!”

Age of Ultron is released in the US today, with the film having already broken UK box office records following it’s release last week.
