Civil War Set Photos Give Us First Look at Crossbones

The much-anticipated Captain America: Civil War has started filming, which means we have a lot of on-set photos to come between now and the wrap of filming.

As production is in the early stages in Atlanta, we haven’t had too much in the way of interesting photos. However that has now changed, as action scenes are on the filming slate and that means shots – courtesy of Just Jared – of Chris Evans as Captain America, Anthony Mackie as Falcon, and rather interestingly, Frank Grillo in full costume as Crossbones.

Grillo was last seen in The Winter Soldier as Brock Rumlow, as part of the emerging Hydra group going against S.H.I.E.L.D., ending the film in a rather burnt state on an operating table. It’s safe to say he is in a better condition heading into Civil War.

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

As well as Evans, Mackie and Grillo, Civil War will feature Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Chadwick Boseman, Emily VanCamp, Daniel Brühl, William Hurt, and Martin Freeman.

It releases on 6 May 2016.
