The Latest on Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns; Crazy Rumour Denied

Sometimes there are rumours that spring from nowhere and deserve to be ignored. Other times, there are rumours that, while still as ridiculous as they come, actually have to be mentioned to be ruled out.

Today, it’s the latter. But first, some backstory.

Ahead of this past Monday’s episode of Raw, WWE World Heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar was advertised to appear and respond to Roman Reigns’ victory at Fastlane 24 hours earlier. However by the time the show went off the air, there was no sight of Lesnar. Interestingly, the champion was backstage after being flown in via private jet. However by the end of the night, he had left the building, with sources saying that he was angry with something and the decision was taken to not write him into the show.

Once word came out of Lesnar’s anger and removal from the show, speculation started over what exactly caused his anger. Reports state that there is no issue with the creative direction heading into WrestleMania 31 and it is actually down to a ‘business agreement’ with the company.

Fast forward to late last night, a claim from an anonymous user on Reddit stated that Lesnar’s anger with the company came because Roman Reigns failed a Wellness test and WWE decided not to take action.

Giving the rumour more attention than it deserves, just think of the public backlash the company would be facing for flagrantly breaking the terms of their own stringent testing policies if they decided to choose not to suspend Reigns.

PWInsider‘s Mike Johnson commented on the rumour, contacting WWE for an official statement on the speculation. Their response was clear and concise;

“That story is absolutely, 100% untrue.”

The current scuttlebutt is that Brock is unhappy that his WrestleMania payday will be coming out of the (dwindling) pay-per-view buys. Whatever the case, it is expected that any issues will be resolved shortly and normal business can resume heading into WrestleMania.
