The series will be written and produced by The Flash and Arrow creator and producer Greg Berlanti

Supergirl will star Melissa Benoist in the lead role, while Calista Flockhart, Mehcad Brooks and Laura Benanti will also feature. It has been given a series commitment and is expected to air during the 2015-16 season.
