Bryan Singer’s next big mutant-fest, X-Men: Apocalypse, continues to grow it’s substantial cast list with former Eastenders actor Ben Hardy signing on for an undisclosed role.
Hardy, best known for playing Peter Beale, left the British soap opera this week after deciding to try his luck on the other side of Atlantic.
The actor has been connected to the movie for some time after apparently auditioning for the role of young Cyclops, putting him firmly on Singer’s radar.
According to The Wrap, Hardy will take “a key, as-yet-undisclosed” part in the movie, with many fans now speculating that he may be set to play Angel, this has however been denied by production insiders.
Hardy will join Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp and Kodi Smit-McPhee on the new film alongside established X-Men actors James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence.
X-Men: Apocalypse is due for release in the UK on May 19, 2016 and in the US on May 27, 2016.
