First Photo Released of Jason Momoa as Aquaman

“Unite the Seven”, Aquaman has arrived.

Director Zack Snyder has tweet the first official image of Games Of Thrones actor Jason Momoa as DC Comics superhero Aquaman.

Momoa is set to make his first appearance as the character in Snyder’s upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Should all of Warner and DCs plans go forward then he will reprise the role in future Justice League films as well.

As with Wonder Woman, Snyder’s team has given the superhero a different, more gritty look from the comics. Gone is the orange and green outfit known from the comics and this Aquaman now sports a full beard and dark hair instead of the the blonde fans would expect.

In the DC comics Aquaman is the king of the seven seas, this could be what the slogan in the image is referencing.

It could however refer to the seven superheroes said to be involved in the Justice League movie; Batman, Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, Flash and Green Lantern – Most of which have been cast.

Starring Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is due for release on March 25, 2016.
