Benedict Cumberbatch Confirmed as Doctor Strange

Marvel have announced that Benedict Cumberbatch will be Doctor Strange.

In a post on the official website, the studio confirmed the long-standing casting news.

Marvel president Kevin Feige has spoken on the casting;

“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity. In 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”

According to the post, the film ‘will follow the story of neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.”

Doctor Strange will be directed by Scott Derrickson and will release on 4 November 2016.
