Twin Peaks Return Confirmed

Twin Peaks will return in 2016.

The cult classic TV series went off the air 25 years ago, but will now come back for a 9-episode run on US cable network Showtime, with all nine installments being directed by original creator David Lynch.

The new run will reportedly be set in the present day more than twenty years on from the original, still continuing it’s story.

Rumours had been flying in previous days following these cryptic identical tweets from Lynch and co-creator Mark Frost, and those rumours were confirmed with the posting of a short video.

Kyle MacLachan has hinted that he will return for the new series, with no other word yet on any other returning cast members.

The original series ran for two seasons between 1990 and 1991, while a prequel movie – Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me – was released in 1992.
