Warner Bros. have confirmed that three LEGO movies will be released, following on from this year’s successful The LEGO Movie.
As well as announcing the massive slate of DC movies, Warner Chairman and CEO Kevin Tsujihara used a Time Warner investors meeting to confirm the upcoming LEGO features.
Up first will be Ninjago in 2016, based on the ninja-themed toy line from the Cartoon Network series. Charlie Bean is down to direct, while LEGO Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are on board as producers. The Will Arnett-starring The LEGO Batman Movie – directed by Chris McKay – follows in 2017, directly spinning off from the character’s well-received appearance in The LEGO Movie.
Lastly, The LEGO Movie 2 comes in 2018. No word yet on casting for that one, though it is expected that Chris Pratt and Elizabeth Banks would return.
