Marvel Event: Nine Movies Announced

Marvel have announced a raft of new movies due to come out over the next five years.

At a special event in Los Angeles, the studio pulled the curtain back on Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the confirmation of a staggering nine feature films.

Here is the full announced listing, in release order:


6 May 2016: Captain America: Civil War


4 November 2016: Doctor Strange


3 November 2017: Black Panther


5 May 2017: Guardians of the Galaxy 2


28 July 2017: Thor: Ragnarok


4 May 2018: Avengers: Infinity War Part 1


6 July 2018: Captain Marvel


2 November 2018: The Inhumans


3 May 2019: Avengers: Infinity War Part 2

We’ve also been treated to our first look at Black Panther who will be played by Chad Boseman.


Oh and this…..Thanos and the Infinity Gauntlet.


Also confirmed at the special Marvel event during the Q&A session:

  • Benedict Cumberbatch is not confirmed as Doctor Strange.
  • We will see Black Panther in Captain America: Civil War.
  • We will get writer and director announcement prior to casting for Captain Marvel.
  • This is the Cinematic Civil War, so expect changes from the original story
  • No Hulk solo movie for now.
  • Ant-Man is the end of Phase 2 and Civil War is the beginning of Phase 3.

    • Not even a little. Would you be bothered about an unproven competitor when you have currently three of the best movies of the year? Guardians, Winter Soldier, X-Men: DoFP (technical not Marvel Studios but Marvel characters) In December with the bluray release Guardians will easily top the billion mark, what have Marvel got to worry about?
