Sean O’Haire Passes Away [Update: Cause of Death Reported]

*UPDATE*

Sean O’Haire’s cause of death is believed to be suicide.

TMZ are reporting that, according to local police, O’Haire was found by his father in his bedroom beside his bed, with a red rope tied around his neck and connected to the bedpost.

*ORIGINAL STORY*

Sean O’Haire has passed away, aged 43.

O’Haire was found dead at his home yesterday in Spartanburg, SC. His cause of death is not known at this point.

O’Haire – real name Sean Christopher Haire – made his TV debut in WCW in 2000, as part of the Natural Born Thrillaz group brought up from development by booker Vince Russo. Haire’s contract was picked up when WWE purchased WCW and he, alongside Mark Jindrak, held the WCW Tag-Team Championships and were involved in the doomed Invasion angle. They lost the belts to Undertaker and Kane and then split, with O’Haire being sent down to OVW.

O’Haire returned to TV on Smackdown, under the persona of a manipulator. He started gaining some momentum through his promos, but that momentum was quickly halted when he was paired with Rowdy Roddy Piper in the Scotsman’s rivalry with Hulk Hogan. When Piper was fired from the company, O’Haire quickly fell, working low-card matches.

He suffered an injury that forced him off TV, leading to the company choosing to release in 2004. O’Haire was injury-free and ready to return at the time of his release.

Following his release, O’Haire worked several independent shows before trying his hand at MMA. He worked several K-1  shows before ending his interest in MMA. In recent years, O’Haire found himself on the wrong side of the law following brawls at bars.

At the time of his death, Haire was working as a personal trainer.
