Gotham Finds a UK Home

Gotham will air in the UK on Channel 5.

The highly-anticipated DC Comics origin series will focus on James Gordon in a pre-Dark Knight Gotham City, set in the days before Bruce Wayne became the iconic Caped Crusader. Starting with the murder of Wayne’s parents, Gordon will come up against the likes of Selina Kyle, Edward Nygma and Oswald Cobblepot, before they go on to become their better-known criminal alter egos.

Katie Keenan, Channel 5’s head of acquisitions, said of the deal;

“I don’t think there was a more exciting show at the LA screenings this year – Gotham is a thrilling drama built on iconic characters that fascinate. Channel 5 is delighted to become the home of such a powerful, bold and visually stunning show. Its acquisition proves we continue to be committed to the biggest in US drama.”

Starring Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue and Sean Pertwee, Gotham premieres in the US on September 22, with Channel 5 due to begin airing shortly after.
