Gamescom 2014: LittleBigPlanet Release Date

Sony platform exclusive LittleBigPlanet 3 has made it’s appearance at this year’s gamescom by not only being playable on the show floor but by getting a brand new trailer and a confirmed release date too. This third title in the main series will be available come the 18th of November.

Sony has been showing off the game’s new tools along with the sandbox game’s customisable heroes, each with their own special abilities and physics (first shown at E3) – for instance; Sackboy can also use the new Blaster Handle tool which allows players to create power-ups from goop-firing guns.

A dynamic thermometer is now more flexible and allows levels to be “massively bigger” and with greater depth due to 16 playable layers. Touch Create makes use of the DualShock 4′s touch pad “to bring a whole new element to your level creation.” There will be 70 new tools, 29 enhanced tools from LBP and LBP 2 and 10 tools from LBP Vita. Combined, you have 250 Create Tools. Players will also be able to stream gameplay and create trailers.

LittleBigPlanet 3 arrives on both PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 on the 18th November.
