If E3 is the event for sequel announcements, then gamescom is definitely the event for sequel multiplayer beta announcements. With Fable Legends and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare already in the lineup, Xbox’s Halo V: Guardians is also getting the very same information… a multiplayer beta announcement!
Microsoft announced at gamescom today the Halo 5 Guardians multiplayer beta will start from the 29th of December. This beta will run for three weeks and give players the chance to battle it out in a 4v4 arena before finishing up on the 13th January.
The announcement also revealed that there will be some included ulocks in the beta that will carry over when you purchase the full game – possibly as a symbolic ‘flipping the bird‘ at a certain former Halo Developer. The Halo Guardians beta will also run at a smooth 60 frames-per-second.
Along with the beta (getting sick of the word beta yet?) was the announcement of a new Halo channel – similar to Halo Waypoint, which will act as a hub for all things Halo related. Also included will be unlockable rewards and Twitch support. A video for the channel is below:
