San Diego Comic Con 2014: Family Guy/Simpsons Crossover Footage

The much talked about, long awaited Family Guy/The Simpsons cross-over episode has had a 5 minute preview screened at San Diego comic con this weekend.

The episode, entitled “The Simpsons Guy”, sees Peter and co travel to Springfield. Once there they quickly become friends with the Simpsons and before long all hell breaks loose.

In the clip, we see a number of the situations the two families will be involved in, from Homer and Peter sharing a doughnut, to Bart teaching Stewie the ways of the crank call. The highlight of the clip though is the epic fight sequence between Homer and Peter as they rampage through Springfield in homage to the Peter vs the Giant Chicken routines from Family Guy.

The team behind Family Guy have been in charge from the beginning with this episode so expect the episode to be less family friendly then the Simpsons is known for.

In addition to the Simpsons clan, Apu, Moe and Ralph Wiggum are given cameos in the preview, though there has been no confirmation on how many of the other yellow skinned regulars will be involved in the story.

The episode airs as a one-hour season premiere on September 28th in the US. No word yet on when the episode will be aired in the UK, or on which channel as the BBC own the rights to Family Guy whilst Channel 4 own the rights to The Simpsons.
